Andy Wampler grew up in the Tri-Cities area and returned here to practice law in 2001.  His areas of practice include medical malpractice defense, employment law, business and commercial litigation, contracts, and class actions.  He has been involved in the litigation of many claims, as counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants, in state and federal court, and before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and Tennessee Supreme Court.

In addition to litigation, Mr. Wampler reviews and negotiates vendor, employment, services, and construction contracts.  He serves several organizations as counselor and volunteer.  Mr. Wampler has written and spoken on various legal topics, with his work being cited by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and used by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for training.  He lives in Kingsport with his wife Jenny and their three children, and he is active in the community through numerous organizations.

Educational Achievement:
Mr. Wampler was awarded the William M. Leech Memorial Scholarship, Distinguished Student Attorney Service Award, and the Jerry J. Phillips Comment Award at the University of Tennessee School of Law. He was a member of the Tennessee Law Review, serving as Articles Editor. Mr. Wampler completed an Advocacy Concentration while taking part in the Legal Clinic.  He served as the head representative for BAR/BRI and was elected to "Who's Who: American Law Students" and Sigma Tau Delta.  He was recognized for academic excellence in Products Liability, Trial Practice, Advanced Trial Advocacy, Advocacy Clinic, Criminal Law and Law & Literature.  During graduate school and college, he was awarded two graduate fellowships, the Presbyterian National Service Grant, and other scholarships and awards.  He has taught college level literature and composition, has presented seminars at local, regional, and national meetings and conferences, and his poetry has been published in several sources.  He has made legal presentations on employer issues, electronic discovery, and medical malpractice.
